December

All we can say is we are CRAZY busy!! Somehow in the craziness we were able to get our tree up!! In my lack of planning it ended up looking like a Christmas Tree Fiesta. You would have thought I would notice red and green with white poinsetas. Oh well....we will say Feliz Navidad rather than Merry Christmas this year :) We are flexible!!
Image I am busy trying to finish the semester in 1st grade and Daniel is almost done with his finals. Daniel LOVES having Saturdays off of work now.....and I have to admit it is nice to have help around the house and running all the errands that are put off during the week.

In our extra time we are frantically planning the New Years Eve Dance. I keep singing the song "It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year". We are looking forward to celebrating our first Christmas together. It is hard to believe that is has already been 6 months since we got married.
Image We are so happy that U of A is going to the Las Vegas bowl! We hope the Wildcats beat the Cougars....but it is the Lord University so who knows what will happen.Image We love you all and thank for all of your love and support during this busy time in our lives. Especially my MOM...thanks for all your help. You are truly the best Mom ever....I'm a little bias but that's okay.

We love our Father in Heaven and we feel incredible blessed to celebrate his birth during this season. Feliz Navidad and we wish you a Wonderful New Year!Image

Sweetheart Tag

While Daniel is sleeping and I am updating the blog I decided to do this sweetheart blog. I was desperately hoping it asked what is something that few people know about him....but to my disappointment it didn't. So.....I figured I would tell you anyways since this a tribute to the love of my life :). For those of you who know Daniel, you know he is very much a man. He loves football and any kind of sports. WELL....very few people know that while in High School he was a cheerleader and in fact....he went to state and won. We have a trophy to prove it. I Love you Daniel....I am so glad someone will be able to teach our future children how to be a cheerleader...because we all know I don't have that talent :)

What is your husbands name? Timothy Daniel Stone

How long have you guys been married? 6 months....CRAZY

How long did you date? After his mission we dated for 3 months and we were engaged 3 months...but we knew each other before his mission.

How old is he? 26 turning 27 in Feb.

Who is taller? Daniel....it doesn't take much to be taller than me

Who can sing best? he can....for sure...he has performed at wedding and all kinds of things.

Who is smarter? Daniel is very smart and while I can sometimes outsmart him (especially when we are talking about grammar)....I can't beat his grades....he is a smarty pants when it comes to school. That is a very good thing :)

Who does laundry? That would be Daniel most of the time....I forget that I start the laundry then it has to be washed again because it sat for too long....as a result Daniel has taken over that responsibility for now.

Who pays the bills? We both do :)

Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? That would be me :)

Who mows the lawn? neither...we live in apartments :(

Who cooks dinner? Unless it comes from a can or box...that would be me too :)

Who is the first to admit when they are wrong? Always Daniel....I can be a little stubborn

Who wears the pants? I try to but it never works out so I decided that Daniel can take that on :)

HOORAY!!! We can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Many of you know that Daniel has been trying to obtain a CDL for MONTHS now. While waiting Daniel has been working two jobs, in case something didn't work out. Not to mention he is also taking a full course load at the University. As any human being would be...Daniel has been drained and worn out from such a rigorous schedule.
Well.....Today we received the answer to countless prayers. We opened two letters....one from the Diabetes Waiver Committee and one from the Department of Transportation....both gave the official go ahead for Daniel to receive his CDL. The medical wavier was a miracle because the government requires 5 years of medical history for diabetics. This was very difficult because Daniel was on his mission and has not even been diagnosed for 5 years. However, we were blessed with very kind doctors who filled out the papers several times until the Department of Transportation accepted them.
We are so grateful for everyone who has been so understanding while Daniel is going through this process. We know that Heavenly Father has blessed us tremendously!! We love you all and are keeping our fingers crossed that Daniel passes the driving test without the help of his backseat driver in the car :)

YouTube

I came across this ad on youtube and just wanted to share. I know that everyone takes a different stance for whatever reason...but I just really enjoyed the message here. I feel so blessed to have the opportunity to be married in the temple, to my wonderful husband. We know that the world is changing at a rapid pace and I find comfort in knowing that my family can be together forever!

Busy is the way to be!!

Whooo!!! Does anyone know how many days are left until New Years?? ONLY 55 days until 2009. While that sounds like a long time, we are thinking quite the opposite!! We have been asked to help plan and carry out a Youth New Years Eve Dance for three stakes in the area. We are really excited because we will get to spend time together planning and doing everything for the dance! Watch out though, we are recruiting help...soooo....if you don't have plans....we can help you out :) JUST KIDDING!! Anyhow, with all of the upcoming events we hope to have some pictures to post soon! Hope everyone is having a great November!

TGIF!!

HOORAY for Friday! The past two weeks have been PACKED full for us. I had 21 parent teacher conferences last week. This week Daniel had three late night study sessions at U of A, three tests, a project, plus both of his jobs. Needless to say it was BRUTAL!! The alarm went off way too early in the morning....and bedtime was getting later and later with the tests approaching. The few days Daniel was able to sleep in past 5am, my alarm and snooze habits prevented it. POOR GUY :( I am happy to report that his Economics, Management Information, and Accounting tests all went well. In celebration we went to Daniel's favorite restaurant, Olive Garden, for dinner.
Image
Today I honestly had a first in my teaching career. I took my class to the restroom after lunch as normal. One of my students came out and with big eyes and a loud voice....he first clarifies that he was not tattling then he went on to say "MRS. STONE they are playing in the toilet!" I never expected what happened next. I stood outside the door and told all of the boys to come out of the bathroom. It was pretty clear what happened once I saw them. Three boys were taking turns flushing their heads in the urinal!! YUCK!! I was thankful that the three boys were in other classes and my students didn't participate....but I still can't believe it....who gives themselves swirlies? Oh the joys of first grade....I LOVE IT!!!

Update

Well it has been an eventful week here in the Stone household. Daniel started his first week of school and he is SUPER busy. Most days he starts at 4:15am and he walks in the door in the evening around 7pm. All week we waited for the weekend to arrive :) and we are really excited that we even get an extra day off.

Saturday we went to the U of A's first football game. We got to our seats only to have the game delayed and the stadium evacuated. We left and went over to the library to hang out until they restarted the game. After about an hour, the game started. The rain continued and we had fun with the umbrellas. The Cooks, The Larimore's and the Stone's all sit in the same section. About 5 minutes before half time I received a mass circulated text that included the picture below. With the caption look it's Daniel.
Image
Hahaha....could have fooled me...the guy was even sitting next to us. However, Daniel wasn't cool enough to have princesses on his umbrella. His umbrella was pink and white minus the princesses:). At half time we decided we had enough. Since the score was over 33 points Jack in the Box was giving out free tacos. The family piled in the suburban and we went to Jack in the Box where we cashed in our tickets for 14 tacos. Shelly wanted to ask for free water but my dad wouldn't ask. After the taco party at my parents, we came home to find that someone stole our door decoration and our flower pot!! It was kinda of sad but oh well.

Today we gave our first talk as a married couple in our ward. It was on tithing. It was fun...but I am happy it is over. Tomorrow we are going to celebrate Shelly's birthday and relax before the crazy week starts again!

Where did the month go??

Image

I cannot believe how fast the month has gone. School is in full swing and as usual we are very busy. Thus the only picture we have together is the one above :). Daniel is working two jobs right now. After a long relaxing summer he is off to school again next week at Pima and UofA. :) I am going to miss the extra help around the house though. Until this summer I couldn't remember the last time someone did my laudry for me. I have been spoiled :). Other than that the Olympics has kept us ocuppied. We will try to post something more excited next week as Arizona Football starts!! HORRAY!!!

Back to Work Already

I can't believe how fast the summer has gone! I am not ready to go back to work yet...but no matter if I am ready...tomorrow is the day! The summer is nice because I can work when I want to. But tomorrow starts the daily routine as I report to work for a meeting at 8am. The students come back on Monday! Ready or not....here they come! I will try to post pictures of my classroom before the students come...because it is probably one of the only times it will be perfect until next summer :) I am excited but wish I had just one more week. The picture below is the view every morning for the next 207 days, minus weekends of course, and I am happy it is pretty view :).

The Last Box

Well today I unpacked the last box. We still have a lot to get done but there is finally a light at the end of the tunnel. Daniel loves the new apartment and really enjoys being able to turn the volume up on the TV because it is so far away :). I have been busy hanging curtains and pictures. Shelly has been a huge help in that process. I am looking forward to the purchase of our new dryer! I am even more excited that I have graduated from the laundromat! WHOOO! I even had a chance to plant some flowers on our patio today. I am sad the summer is quickly coming to a close, but I am already looking forward to fall break! Here are some pictures of our new place :)

Moving...ahhh!!

We are moving tomorrow!! I am excited to finally have an apartment with a washer and dryer. However, as you may see it is 2am and I am still up. I gave up on packing anymore tonight and plan on finishing the packing EARLY (6am) in the morning! I am so grateful that we have such amazing friends and family that are willing to help us with all the moving. It is going to take a lot to get me to move again unless it is to a house :). It is funny to see Daniel's reaction...He just can't understand why we have so many boxes. I keep telling him...Christmas decorations, kitchen stuff, movies, scrapbook stuff, winter clothes, games, the list goes on and on. Anyhow, I will post pictures of the progress as soon as I can find my camera amongst all the boxes. Next time I post we will be all moved and hopefully settled in :) YIPPEE!!

4th of July

Here are some pictures from our 4th of July Adventures! Yes, I survived! Daniel escaped with only minor cuts and bruises thanks to the game of sardines. Daniel must have been woken up 100 times in the middle of night because I was convinced there was a bear outside the tent. Thankfully it was just a few cows. Daniel caught a fish and experienced real camping! We had fun in our humble tent with a temperamental air mattress and it will make a great story to tell our kids. We figure our sleeping situation can only get better next year! Even with the sleeping conditions we had a blast and Daniel can't wait to go again.

Week 3!

ImageWell it is hard to believe we have already been married for three weeks! We had a busy three weeks. I turned 25...AHHH!!! Daniel has been busy with work and helping out around the house, especially with the laundry. I took 40 hours of classes over the past two weeks. I had the opportunity to take a class about Steven Covey's 7 habits of Highly Effective People. It was awesome and I now have a talking stick! I also took a class about the Social Emotional Needs of Gifted Learners and I know that will be helpful this next year as I teach the first grade gifted education cluster class. In between classes I have been working in my classroom and Justin and Daniel have been helping me out which has been wonderful. In the near future we are gearing up for camping in the White Mountains! Then shortly after that we are moving!! Hooray for packing :)...and starting to use all of our amazing wedding gifts. We decided we are not using any of them until we move! That's about all for now....I will try to get some pictures of camping. Daniel is super excited since he can't really remember the last time he caught a fish...it should be fun! Have a wonderful 4th of July! I have included some random pictures that Shelly and Rob took at the temple when we were married since we don't have any others to share right now :)!Image

It offically was set to open today but they were letting some people ride. It was a blast! Of course Daniel won everytime. :)

Night On the Town!

Last night my siblings went to the Carrie Underwood concert:( We are getting ready for the wedding so we decided not to go, but we took Collin out instead. We took him golfing at Fantastics. We tried to ride some rides but in Collins words "I was a little scary and afraid." We let him ride a little train ride which was too much for him. He liked when the train wasn't moving but when it started moving again he was terrified.Image
Collin was a pretty good little golfer. He didn't want any help though so his techniques were a little different. He was so upset when the last hole ate his ball. We convinced him the ball had to go night night. Then he was concerned where the ball was going to sleep if he didn't have a bed.
Image
Finally we took him to Cold Stone and he picked chocolate and sweet cream ice cream with brownie and sprinkles. It was a pretty fun night!

Fun Weekend!

Well we will see how managing two blogs goes. This weekend, like many others, was spent doing a lot of wedding stuff. Daniel went to Mesa to go to the temple and I went to the seamstress for my final dress fitting. Aunt Jill came and helped which was awesome because she helped make sure it was perfect. After that I went to the mall for a while and then I picked Daniel up. We wanted to go to a park that we saw the last time we were in Tempe. We went back and rode a paddle boat around the lake. It was awesome! We came back to Tucson and today we went to stake conference. I can't believe it is only 5 and a half weeks till the wedding! CRAZY!!Image
