Please join me in signing an online petition asking President Bush
to let the weapons inspections work, rather than rushing to war.
Inspections in Iraq have started. Most of us breathed a sigh of
relief. Unfortunately, it's become clear that the ultra-hawks in
the Bush administration -- Cheney, Wolfowitz, Perle -- will not
take yes for an answer. While the rest of the world thinks Iraq
has backed down, these men are beginning a massive public relations
blitz for war.
With the possibility of a peaceful resolution to this crisis at hand,
we cannot allow a few men to push the world to war. Send a message
to President Bush to let the inspections work at:

MoveOn.org will compile our messages and present them to the
administration, including Secretary of State Powell, and to U.N.
Secretary General Kofi Annan.
The good news is that the ultra-hawks face some serious opposition.
Secretary of State Colin Powell and other members of the Bush
Administration are willing to give diplomacy a chance, and the State
Department's interpretation of the U.N. resolution is a lot more
reasonable than the White House's interpretation.
Unless wiser heads prevail, this is what we should expect:
(1) starting December 8th, members of the Bush Administration will
claim that Iraq is in material breach of the U.N. resolution, citing
supposed omissions in the coming multi-hundred page report, based on
undisclosed intelligence; (2) soon thereafter some "hot" incident,
like anti-aircraft fire on U.S. patrols in the no-fly zone, will be
used to solidify public support for war, and finally (3) the bombing
campaign will begin.
This could all begin before Christmas -- another wonderful gift to
the world from the Bush administration.
President Bush has agreed that war should be the very last resort.
Let's hold him and his Administration to those words:

Most of you dont know my living situation. But I have told many many ppl. Its the reason Im so unhappy. I will try to fill you in without making it a novel.
I lived in Tulsa, Ok and in July 1999 I got laid off and my piece o' shit car was (x.x) dead. I had no family or friends to help me. I met a man off the internet right before that happened. He had come down to visit me. I had a great time with him and when I told him what happened after he had gone back home in TX, he offered me a place to stay.
He took care of his bed-ridden mother. She was about 70 yo. She had a massive stroke and needed total care. He had been living in the family home ever since his mother got sick...to help his father take care of her. He quit his job for that. Then his dad died and he stayed to take care of her and also he had a free place to live. He lived off her soc sec and retirement...took care of the bills, her and himself..and the dog.
Then I moved in. It was great for a couple months. Then he changed. Yeah, I know...all us women say that about our men...well alot of us do...but it happens. He didnt treat me like a girlfriend anymore...which was what I was actually. I was a roommate, a friend and companion I guess. Sex was gone.
Ok this is going to be a damn novel if I dont cut it down.
Hes on methadone. He has severe depression. He hasnt worked for 6 years. Hes become a hermit. Hes been paying the bills with credit cards. How has been paying the credit card bills without a job? With another credit card.
Problem now besides no sex (been over 2 years now) and being unhappy (about the same amount of time)?
Money is about to run out...or maybe it already has. He made the decision to put off getting a job...knowing what laid ahead. Now its here.
This affects me too. I live here and have nowhere else to go. But, I WORK! I work in an alzheimers facility...FULL TIME...work my ass off...put up with stress...and I buy all the groceries, dog stuff, household supplies, take car of the car (tires as needed, gas, oil changes, etc.) I only make $8.25 an hour.
Now hes wanting me to pay some bills because hes out of money. BULLSHIT! Im so upset and depressed and dont know what to do...me having clinical depression doesnt help me any either. If I wasnt on Wellbutrin and Prozac...well Id hate to see that.
Where do I go now? I dont have my own car...otherwise I could maybe get my own place.
