08:57 pm - Foxy Dance (Schüttel deinen Speck AMV)

LOL - the lyrics

English translation
Schüttel deinen Speck

I'll be around this evening
I ride into this club fully decorated
All dance, the ladies are really charming
A whole griddle full of tasty chicks
The ladies shake their hips
Shake their gold on the rips
Shake their breasts
Their boyfriends try to shake their heads with the rhythm
Hey bar keeper, mix something for me
He shaked, poured it to seam
A huge hit pulls me at the wall
The DJ is sporty, I shake his hand - Thanks!
It's shuddering and wavering, everybody turns around, they look at her
She's two tons of pure class
She dances with me like a beautiful elephant

Show me what you have
Shake your back and front
Pearl, your table is fully covered
Shake your flesh

Yes, your table is tiled
I don't need cutlery
Tasty, you have to let me bite
I am a baker and bake on your hot butt cheeks
Your toaster goes up and down
Your fruits are crispy, freshly packed
Finest truffle, huge and compact
You won't be able to cast me off
I cling myself to your teetering skirt
I cling to your lipps like gloss
You are beautiful and clever, an educated buck
Please be my wife - you shake your head
I drown myself in alcohol, because that's too hard for me
I fall over, ambulance men carry me
I get shivers, you are the doctor for me
Give me medicine, please shake your ass for me

11:39 pm - creed
"I believe in one secret and ineffable LORD; and in one Star in the company of Stars of whose fire we are created, and to which we shall return; and in one Father of Life, Mystery of Mystery, in His name CHAOS, the sole viceregent of the Sun upon Earth; and in one Air the nourisher of all that breaths.

And I believe in one Earth, the Mother of us all, and in one Womb wherein all men are begotten, and wherein they shall rest, Mystery of Mystery, in Her name BABALON.

And I believe in the Serpent and the Lion, Mystery of Mystery, in His name BAPHOMET.

And I believe in one Gnostic and Catholic Church of Light, Life, Love and Liberty, the Word of whose Law is THELEMA.

And I believe in the communion of Saints.

And, forasmuch as meat and drink are transmuted in us daily into spiritual substance, I believe in the Miracle of the Mass.

And I confess one Baptism of Wisdom whereby we accomplish the Miracle of Incarnation.

And I confess my life one, individual, and eternal that was, and is, and is to come.

AUMGN, AUMGN, AUMGN."

11:33 pm - Liber AL vel Legis, sub figurâ CCXX III:37-38
I am the Lord of Thebes, and I
The inspired forth-speaker of Mentu;
For me unveils the veilèd sky,
The self-slain Ankh-af-na-khonsu
Whose words are truth. I invoke, I greet
Thy presence, O Ra-Hoor-Khuit!
Unity uttermost showed!
I adore the might of Thy breath,
Supreme and terrible God,
Who makest the gods and death
To tremble before Thee—
I, I adore thee!
Appear on the throne of Ra!
Open the ways of the Khu!
Lighten the ways of the Ka!
The ways of the Khabs run through
To stir me or still me!
Aum! let it kill me!

The light is mine; its rays consume
Me: I have made a secret door
Into the House of Ra and Tum,
Of Khephra and of Ahathoor.
I am thy Theban, O Mentu,
The prophet Ankh-af-na-khonsu!
By Bes-na-Maut my breast I beat;
By wise Ta-Nech I weave my spell.
Show thy star-splendour, O Nuit!
Bid me within thine House to dwell,
O wingèd snake of light, Hadit!
Abide with me, Ra-Hoor-Khuit!

11:23 pm - Easy Cake
The baking station pictured below is where hundreds of wedding cakes were made using this irresistible white wedding cake recipe. Fill it with chocolate or raspberry mousse, Luscious English lemon curd, or fresh ripe raspberries and white chocolate buttercream.

Try it you will love it!

This is the original smaller batch recipe for making a two layer 8 or 9 inch cake, or a couple dozen yummy cupcakes. Use this one to make a tester or for a tasting with clients.

Makes two layers each 8 or 9 inch round cakes

Preheat oven to 350 degrees

Ingredients

3 cups sifted all-purpose flour
1 Tablespoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup unsalted butter (2 sticks at room temperature)
2 cups granulated sugar
4 eggs (separated)
1 cup milk (orange juice if making the orange cake)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
For lemon cake add-zest of 2 lemons
For the orange version add zest of 2 oranges

whipped egg whites stiff but not dry

Sift together flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside

In the large bowl of an electric mixer beat the butter until soft and smooth. Add the sugar and beat until light and smooth. Add egg yolks, one at a time, beating after each addition. Stop the mixer and scrape down the sides of the bowl and the beaters several times.

With the mixer on low speed, alternately add the flour mixture and milk, beginning and ending with flour. Stir in the vanilla. At this point you may add flavoring touches if desired. (orange zest, lemon zest, almond extract))

In another bowl, with a clean beater, beat the egg whites until stiff but not dry. (pictured) Stir about 1/2 cup of whites into the batter to lighten it, then fold in remaining whites in several additions.

Divide the batter evenly between the pans. Smooth the batter level, then spread it slightly from the center to the edges.

Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or just until the tops are springy or a cake tester comes out clean.

Cool the cakes in their pans on a rack for 10 minutes. Invert the cakes onto racks.

Lemon and Orange Cake Ideas

LEMON

Brush this wonderful lemony syrup over the cake layers.

SYRUP

1/4-1/2 cup of sugar and the juice of 2 lemons. Double or triple for a wedding cake.

FILLING

English Lemon Curd mixed with buttercream makes a wonderful filling for a lemon cake. Add fresh raspberries for an especially fabulous ending to any celebration.

More lemon cake ideas.

ORANGE sprinkle or brush Triple Sec over the layers then fill with white chocolate buttercream and fresh raspberries.

Acro-Yoga is a relatively new physical discipline. According to a description I read on a flyer in Santa Cruz, it "blends the spiritual wisdom of yoga, the loving kindness of massage, and the dynamic power of acrobatics." I'd love to see you work on creating a comparable hybrid in the coming months, Aries -- some practice or system or approach that would allow you to weave together your various specialties into a synergetic whole. Start brainstorming about that impossible dream now, and soon it won't seem so impossible.

Boulder cancels Fourth of July fireworks show in wake of Flagstaff Fire

Posted: 06/27/2012 09:04:24 AM MDT
By: Mitchell Byars, Camera

Officials announced today that the annual Ralphie's Independence Day Blast fireworks show on the Fourth of July has been cancelled amid fire concerns as crews fight the Flagstaff Fire just west of the city.

"Public safety was our primary concern in deciding to cancel the fireworks show," Boulder City Manager Jane Brautigam said in a statement. "Given the current fire in south Boulder, along with fires in neighboring cities and extremely dry conditions, the public safety risk to the Boulder community is significant.

"Given the dangers and Colorado's statewide fire restrictions, it would be irresponsible to launch 4,000 fireworks over the city this year."

Boulder Fire Marshal Dave Lowrey was originally going to make a decision on the Folsom Field fireworks show on Friday, but in light of the Flagstaff Fire -- which started Tuesday afternoon and has reached 230 acres -- he elected to cancel the show earlier..

"We know it's disappointing to celebrate the Fourth of July without fireworks, but it would be a real tragedy if we went forward and someone's home caught fire as a result," Lowrey said in a statement.

Officials also warned that individuals should not set off fireworks on their own. It is illegal to possess or use fireworks within the city, and there is also a fireworks ban in unincorporated Boulder County.

City officials said they have no plans to hold any sort of celebration at Folsom Field this year. The last time the city cancelled its fireworks show, in 2002, the city instead held a laser show to celebrate the Fourth of July.

Elsewhere in Boulder County, Jamestown has elected to cancel its fireworks show, while Nederland will delay its show, possibly until July 28. Louisville and Lafayette are set to discuss their fireworks shows and make a decision later this week. Erie and Longmont are both scheduled to hold their fireworks displays as planned."

Ingredients

Kosher salt
1 10-ounce bag baby spinach
1 cup packed fresh basil
3/4 cup canned cannellini beans, drained and rinsed
6 ounces Neufchatel cream cheese
1 clove garlic, smashed
1/2 cup low-sodium chicken broth
1 14-ounce can artichoke hearts, drained, squeezed dry and finely chopped

3/4 cup shredded low-fat mozzarella cheese
Pinch of cayenne pepper
2 or 3 dashes Worcestershire sauce
Freshly ground black pepper

10:08 am - Abramelin
The Holy Oil is the Aspiration of the Magician; it is that which consecrates him to the performance of the Great Work; and such is its efficacy that it also consecrates all the furniture of the Temple and the instruments thereof. It is also... the grace or chrism; for this aspiration is not ambition; it is a quality bestowed from above. For this reason the Magician will anoint first the top of his head before proceeding to consecrate the lower centres in their turn.
-----
This oil is of a pure golden colour; and when placed upon the skin it should burn and thrill through the body with an intensity as of fire. It is the pure light translated into terms of desire. It is not the Will of the Magician, the desire of the lower to reach the higher; but it is that spark of the higher in the Magician which wishes to unite the lower with itself.
-----
Unless therefore the Magician be first anointed with this oil, all his work will be wasted and evil.
-----
This oil is compounded of four substances. The basis of all is the oil of olive. The olive is, traditionally, the gift of Minerva, the Wisdom of God, the logos. In this are dissolved three other oils; oil of myrrh, oil of cinnamon, oil of galangal. The Myrrh is attributed to Binah, the Great Mother, who is both the understanding of the Magician and that sorrow and compassion which results from the contemplation of the Universe. The Cinnamon represents Tiphareth, the Sun-the Son, in whom Glory and Suffering are identical. The Galangal represents both Kether and Malkuth, the First and the Last, the One and the Many, since in this Oil they are One.

The eve of the Roman feast of Lupercalia. Naked youths would run through Rome, anointed with the blood of sacrificed dogs and goats, waving thongs cut from the goats. If a young woman was struck by the thong, fertility was assured. Pope Gelasius I decided this was a bit too much, and co-opted the Roman holiday to be the Feast of St. Valentine in 484 A.D.

03:09 pm - Tura Satana dies at 72; actress starred in 'Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill!'
Satana gained cult status for her role as Varla, 'the Arnold Schwarzenegger of bad girls,' in the 1965 Russ Meyer film.

Tura Satana played Varla, who kills a young man with her bare hands and helps kidnap his girlfriend, in the 1965 Russ Meyer film. John Waters called it “the best movie that ever will be made.” (Strand Releasing / February 6, 2011)

February 7, 2011

Tura Satana, an actress who gained cult status for her role in the 1965 Russ Meyer movie "Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill!," died Friday of heart failure at a hospital in Reno.

Satana's death was confirmed by her manager, Siouxzan Perry, who said Satana was 72.

In "Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill!" Satana played Varla, the leader of a "daredevil trio of sports car-driving vixens," wrote film critic B. Ruby Rich in the Village Voice in 1995. "She drove her Porsche like a bat out of hell, delivered her dialogue with an arched eyebrow that let the audience in on the joke and tossed men into the air like they were pancakes."

Image

After Varla kills a young man with her bare hands, the three women kidnap his girlfriend and converge on the desert ranch of a wealthy older man and his two sons. "The ensuing conflict is like a clash between King Kong and Godzilla," Kevin Thomas wrote in The Times in 2004. Thomas said the film was "loaded with sex and violence to the point of parody — which may be the point."

The movie was "a loser, absolute loser" when first released, Meyer told The Times in 1994. But by the 1990s it had been rediscovered. Filmmaker John Waters even called it "not only the best movie ever made but the best movie that ever will be made."

Meyer insisted she play Varla with raw strength, Satana told the Chicago Sun-Times in 2008. The result was "the Arnold Schwarzenegger of bad girls," the Chicago Tribune's Michael Wilmington wrote in 1995. "Clad in black leather with a yawning cleavage, [she] is almost insanely voluptuous.... Satana looks like a comic book temptress come to life."

She was born Tura Luna Pascual Yamaguchi in Hokkaido, Japan, on July 10, 1938, Perry said. Her birth year was listed as 1935 by some sources.

Her family moved to California in 1942 and was sent to the Manzanar internment camp during World War II. She grew up in Chicago, worked as an exotic dancer and nude model, and said she turned down a marriage proposal from Elvis Presley.

Her other credits include the film "Irma La Douce" in 1963 and the television shows "Burke's Law" and "The Man From U.N.C.L.E."

Satana's survivors include sisters Amparo Steitz of Grass Valley, Calif., and Pamela Trujillo of Loves Park, Ill.; daughters Kalani Silverman of Enoch, Utah, and Jade Fall of Reno; and six grandchildren, Perry said. She was married three times; her third husband died in 2000.

11:20 am - Frigid temperatures grip Boulder
Camera Staff Report
Posted: 02/01/2011 07:16:58 AM MST

The high in Boulder today is not expected to rise above zero -- climbing to only 4 below zero -- according to the National Weather Service.

The weather station at the National Center for Atmospheric Research's Foothills Campus -- near the intersection of Foothills Parkway and the Diagonal Highway -- reported a temperature of 9 below zero at 8 a.m. And NCAR's Mesa Lab reported a temperature of minus 12 at 8 a.m. By 10:30 a.m., the temperature had climbed to 5 below zero at the Foothills Campus.

The first day of February could be one of the coldest days in Boulder in years, and a northeast wind blowing between 10 and 20 mph could make it feel even colder -- with wind chills of 25 to 35 below zero, according to the National Weather Service.

The possibility of a wind and cold has prompted the weather service to issue a Wind Chill Warning for Boulder County, which warns that frostbite can occur in less than 10 minutes under the expected weather conditions. The warning also advises anyone traveling to bring adequate warm layers with them.

Tonight, the temperatures is expected to drop to around 20 below zero before climbing up to about 10 degrees on Wednesday.

Thursday will likely bring a return to more normal temperatures, with a high in the 30s, according to the weather service.

The normal high for Feb. 1 in Boulder is 44 degrees and the normal low is 20 degrees, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. The record low high is 6 degrees and the record low is 15 below zero.
