May Utah Trip

I was so excited to go to UT so the boys could meet the rest of their family!  They got to meet all their UT aunts, uncles (except Eric :(  ) and cousins!  The boys took a while to get used to the time difference and I was up pretty much every hour every night, so I'm not sure how I made it through each day, but I did...  Both the boys and I LOVED all the attention and extra hands to help feed, change and entertain them!

 

 

I got to hang out with Presley and Stella a TON.  I was also able to see Presley's dress rehearsal performance in Alice in Wonderland (she was is a teapot dance...  SO cute).

 

 

One of the main reasons I went to UT was to photograph my friend Debbie's wedding!  I know she has been looking forward to her wedding for a LONG time ;) and I was honored that she asked me to be a part of her special day.

 

We had LOTS of fun and silly family time while I was there.  Becka and Lincoln were even able to come up from St. George to hang out with us for a few days.

 

Stella's 2nd birthday was actually a few days before I got into town, but they waited to have the big party while we were around.  Tara made another giant cupcake-cake.  Becka, Camille, Tara and I made the chocolate butterflies to decorate it with.  I LOVE how it all turned out!

We spent most of out time with the family, but I was able to sneak in a little visit with our good friends Brooke and Brian.

 

We were in Utah for 10 days, but it went WAY to fast!  We love you guys and miss you TONS already.  I can't believe the next time you will all see the boys they will be 1 year old!!!  

Up in the Air

The boys did AMAZING on their first airplane ride!  I couldn't have even imagined more well behaved babies on a flight!  I'm such a proud momma right now  :)  The boys drank their bottles and then napped most of the entire (2) flights.  A funny side not to our journey was that Jill (one of my previous wedding clients) was on our same flights to UT.  She was flying out to UT for her sister's wedding.  How crazy was that?!?!  So, we got her seat changed to be next to me Kim and the boys.  Both Kim and Jill are SUPER AWESOME for helping with the boys on the flights.  Here are some pics I took during the flight...

p.s.  I was SO thankful for the 2 extra seats we had near us on the 2nd flight!!!

Baby Shower Cake

Today was my friend Kim's baby shower. She is expecting twins also. She's got boy/girl twins in there! It's crazy how many twins there are lately!! Anyway, for the shower I made the dessert. I decided to make a 2 tiered cake. I've only done 2 other tiered cakes before (here, and here). (Have I mentioned that I LOVE making cakes??? It's a TON of work (and no wonder they cost so much from the cake shops...) but I have so much fun making my master pieces :).

This one is a vanilla butter cake (I still can't find a cake recipe that I just love. I can't seem to get the flavor AND texture exactly right at the same time...) with a boston cream filling, chocolate frosting and chocolate fondant. All in all, I'm really happy with how it came out.

Here's the finished product all set up at the shower. I love the onsies on the top! So cute. I can't wait to meet Kim's little ones :)

I made margarita (well, they were sans tequila, so perhaps just lime) cupcakes for my friends daughter's baptism party. They were delicious! Not as 'lime-y' as I would have hoped for, but they were very good indeed. You can find the recipe here.
