September's Treats

I didn't make too many treats this month...  And it's been good for my weight loss!  (I'm almost to my goal weight!!!  yay!).

I made Kristin a birthday cake.  It's a home-made version of The Cheesecake Factory's Red Velvet Cheesecake.  And boy was it yummy!!!

The cheesecake kind of looks like frosting or a filling...  Next time I will make the cake layer smaller and the cheesecake layer bigger.  It was frosted with white chocolate icing.

I also made a baby shower cake.  It was white cake with chocolate cream filling with whipped buttercream icing.  The decorations were buttercream and chocolate fondant.

 

And lastly there were these...  Evil little peanut butter bars. 

Killing Time...

Evenings seem to be the roughest part of the day for Jonas and Elliott.  I'm going crazy trying to find things to keep the boys occupied in the hours before bedtime...  I would love to put them to bed a little earlier, however, I'm not ok with the early wake up call that arrives the next morning when I put them down too early.

Tonight the weather was nice, so I took the boys outside for a while to see if the backyard would pique their interest and interrupt the evening cry-fest.

It helped out for a little bit, but Jonas was more interested in eating the grass than playing on it.  Eventually, he choked on a bit of grass I wasn't able to get out of his mouth and he barfed massively all over me.  And our evening outside ended.

Anybody have any tips on keeping your babies occupied before bed???

Park Date

The weather is FINALLY cooling off a bit.  Which means we can finally play outside, YAY!  Today me and the boys headed over to the 'park by the hospital' and had a fun play date with Angie & Eli, Leah & Tucker and Jo, Braden & Adleigh.  Here are a few pics from the park.

Lake Norman

Mom requested a boat ride while visiting.  I thought this was a great idea since the only time I have been on a boat on Lake Norman was when I was 7 months pregnant photographing a wedding reception on one of those house boat booze cruises, and I don't think that really counts...

Anyway, Matt's friend Scott and his wife Heather invited us to go out with them and their kiddos.  It was a great evening and we all had a blast!  Thank you Scott and Heather!!!

We had dinner at a 'boat-in'.  It was fun and felt like a mini vacation.  It didn't feel like we were in Mooresville anymore.  I love this shot of Elliott.  It reminds me of Oliver Twist...  'Please, Sir, can I have some more?'.  And of course, one of Jonas sucking on a baby wipe.  I'm not quite sure what the attraction to sucking on one of those is.  Oh well...
