We live in a world that's constantly in flux. We recycle ideas freely. This is socially accepted. This is not accepted by those in power. We live in fear of our own culture. Will it destroy us? Will the powers that be finally make sense of the changing world around them? When will we be allowed to consume what we produce (or re-produce for that matter)? When can you be a producer, but not a musician? Hip-Hop has been there and lost. We have not caught up legally, or even culturally, to the rest of the world. When will CDs be merely an advertisement for live shows? When will easy access of the entire worlds cultural output be at our fingertips, without fear of loss of liberty and freedom? When will everyone be a producer in a culture that accepts and respects ownership of rights without infringing on them, as in Nollywood? When will I not have to ask myself if Hollywood is going to be considered a word by my spell check, when Bollywood and Nollywood are not? There needs to be a global transparency in the output of our individual cultures. It seems so radical a change from what we know now. How long until we catch up with the rest of the world - with our actions and our laws not in contradiction with each other? Only then will we truly begin to evolve. Politically and culturally, we have not begun to understand our place in a world climate where every nation except our own seems to have a truly "free" collective.

Societal Darwinism may not favor us unless we can become unapologetic about ourselves. Mashup should be the norm, not the exception. A Free and Collective Public Domain should be allowed under a symbiotic political and cultural lifestyle. We are living in nothing short of a cultural police state.

These past few days have been srsly good times.

Thank you all so much for your warm wishes. It means the world to both Jaime and I.

Tonight I'm seeing her family for dinner. I'm anxious... I haven't even seen my own mother since I popped the question. This is more nerve-wrecking than asking her father for her hand in marriage. Now I get to be grilled about stuff we're far from planning by her whole family. Oh man, I'm starting to freak out a little inside. OK, so a lot.
