Learn

As a leader in conservation education, we understand that experiencing AWE is often the first step in becoming an ally! From Nature Play and Safari Camps to school field trips and Zoo-to-You classroom visits, we cultivate wonder on a daily basis.

Important Update for Our Guests

DZCA will be closed to the public on February 17–19 and March 3–5 as we make strides to enhance the Zoo for both our guests and animals.

We appreciate your understanding as we work to create the best possible wildlife experience for our community.
Ground hornbills are curious, clever, and absolutely convinced they deserve to be the center of attention.

Bunsen and Merry live with our yellow-backed duiker, Salma, and can often be found exploring their yard, grooming each other, and investigating everything their animal care staff have on them.

We love these bold, curious birds. Stop by the Zoo to say hi to Bunsen, Merry and our other hornbill species!
