The structurally sound aluminium components used in our system are certified for use in seawater, meaning installation into seaside homes and/or exposed installations is not an issue. Servicing or replacements can be done effortlessly, with a removable motor bracket. The motorized roller fits snugly with a zippered track, allowing a remote or wireless switch to control this operation seamlessly.
For mesh, there is a fiberglass insect screen option that provides ventilation and bug control without losing the view and comfort. For thermal and UV protection, the Soltis Veozip fabric offers the best-in-class fabric performance – blocks 96% of UV and up to 95% – 97% heat, while still providing a clean, natural look. Manual Vertical Zip Screen
A manual zip-track vertical screen that delivers the same wind- and insect-resistant protection as our motorized system, operated manually for a simple, cost-effective solution.
The manual vertical zip screen provides the same level of strength and aesthetic appeal as our motorized model, but with simple manual operation, the manual vertical zip screen is ideal for areas where electricity is not available or automation is not required. The zip-track system locks the fabric into three sides, which makes the screen stable and keeps it from rattling or flapping in windy conditions, and as it is housed in a zip-track system, when closed, the finish is wrinkle-free.
The frame is made out of coastal-grade aluminium and has a polymer-wearing inner track, which means it is well-suited for severe daily usage and more extreme outdoor-related circumstances. The bottom rail has inner seals on the strips to a) improve sealing performance and reduce noise, and b) has an EVA sponge strip that keeps the fabric tensioned evenly.
Other mesh options are a fiberglass insect screen (which is meant mostly for ventilation, but also insect control) or use the Soltis Veozip fabric to receive advanced solar performance (this fabric is interesting because you can still see out and receive active heating benefits, while the fabric reduces heat gain, glare, and UV exposures). The manual vertical zip screen is ideal for windows, balconies, and outdoor spaces for entertaining. It’s a very attractive, economical, and high-performance option for year-round living.
