Despite the global push for diversity, the tech industry still struggles with a significant gender gap. Worldwide, women make up only 28% of the tech workforce. In the Philippines, while women’s overall representation is slightly higher at 32-35%, the country faces a unique challenge: the widest STEM gender gap in the Asia-Pacific region, with women comprising only 36.3% of the STEM workforce. This imbalance highlights the critical need for programs that empower girls and women to pursue and succeed in all areas of technology.
