Absorbit was created in 7 days at the Schmiede arts festival in Salzburg. I created the concept for and co-authored the
floor projection game in C# using the Unity Framework with Rene Baumgartner in collaboration with the University of
Applied Science Salzburg, CADET and PELS. We used a thermal camera and high powered projector suspended above a
steel floor to track players using the University’s system and project orbs of light around them. Players’ orbs could gain
mass by ’absorbing’ players with smaller mass or by collecting stars.
Future
I would love to make this a commercially feasible project and future work on tracking and low cost projection / LED floors may make this possible.
