Inspiration
We all have been in boring classes at school waiting until we could come home to play that game we really liked or watch that movie. So what if school was that game?
What it does
It's a game that quizzes people about subjects while trying to defeat the ultimate monster, Problemon. It also links to outside resources to help people if they have questions about the subject.
How we built it
We split up into html and css (front end) and python (backend) teams. We had a general outline of the game we wanted to build, and we used it to create the UI for the home, gym, and fight pages. We then integrated the python and the quiz screen.
Challenges we ran into
Formatting images in html was difficult, though in the end we managed to position the images! The questions answers kept on being graded incorrectly, because we accidentally randomized them, but we realized the issue and fixed it!
Accomplishments that we're proud of
The UI isn't terrible and it the game actually works!
What we learned
How to use html, css, and python better. Communicating as a team and making sure we each knew what the end product we wanted was. Using Chatgpt more effectively
What's next for Academon
Better animations, adding more subjects, adding more questions, test subjects (aka asking kids and adults to play our game to get feedback)
