AI Project Planner

Inspiration

The inspiration for our Coda AI Project Planner stemmed from the need to streamline the project planning process and enhance productivity for teams across various industries. I recognized the challenges teams face in creating comprehensive project plans from scratch, often requiring extensive time and effort. With this in mind, I set out to develop an innovative solution that leverages artificial intelligence to automate the generation of project plans based on project titles and short descriptions.

What it does

Using the project title and a brief description provided by the user, our AI-powered tool generates a structured project plan encompassing tasks, timelines, milestones, and resources. It intelligently analyzes the project description, identifying key deliverables, dependencies, and priorities to create a comprehensive and customized project plan. With the click of a button, users can access a detailed project plan that serves as a blueprint for successful project execution.

How we built it

The doc is mainly made up of AI blocks all with different prompts related to different sections of a project plan. To start using the doc a user must submit a title and short description for their product and then that info is used inside of the AI blocks to create the project plan.

Challenges we ran into

Finding a way to automatically create a project plan but still make it easy for people to edit the content that was generated.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I really enjoy the simplicity of the doc. This process normally took a day or two to do for me and now with this tool I can get a decent project plan in a matter of minutes.

What we learned

I gained a deep understanding of the complexities involved in developing AI-powered tool for coda, including it's strengths, weaknesses and differences compared to other tools like ChatGPT.

What's next for AI Project Planner

Adding more sections to the project planner would be a start. However, I would also like to figure out how I can get the Coda AI to generate timelines based on the content it generates.
