Problem Addressed

Every passing moment holds the potential to make a life-or-death difference in medical emergencies. The pressing issues of unresponsive first-responders and a scarcity of ambulances create distressing delays, with over 53% of ambulance workers witnessing patients succumbing to these obstacles. Urgent action is needed to address these inefficiencies and enhance the emergency care experience, ensuring swift and effective interventions for those in critical situations.

Intended Audience

Aida was designed for both the general public seeking immediate emergency care and healthcare professionals involved in emergency response. Individuals in need of urgent medical assistance can benefit from the hotline feature, connecting them directly to the closest available hospital and ambulance services based on real-time location tracking. Meanwhile, emergency dispatchers and healthcare providers are the target audience for the dispatcher response feature, as it enables them to communicate directly with patients, optimize response times, and coordinate efficient emergency services.

How Solution Was Developed

The team started off by conducting UX research to dictate the app’s human-centered design direction. With brainstorming using affinity diagrams, crafting a user persona, and mapping a user journey, they delved into the ideation process to conceptualize our application that connects patients to emergency first-responders and healthcare professionals during emergency crises. Finally, the team utilized a multidisciplinary approach to web app development prototyping with graphic design and UX/UI design on Figma.
