Elaborate Analogy: Explaining Topics with Relatable Examples

Description:

This use case involves leveraging Eduaide's Elaborate Analogy feature to explain complex topics to students by providing relatable examples. Students can input a specific topic they are struggling to understand, and Eduaide will generate analogies or metaphors that simplify the concept and relate it to something familiar.

Tutorial for Use and Best Practices:

• Access the Eduaide platform Head over to Eduaide.Ai and create an account (it’s free!) and sign in.
• Once signed in, click the Launch button on the top right corner as shown below.

How to use Elaborate Analogy Feature:

After you are taken to the main page, you can see a list of icons with different features and a workspace sidebar to your right. You can also observe a subject and a grade field.

• Enter your desired subject and grade from the dropdown menu.
• Next click on the “Information Objects” Button under “Resources”. Scroll down to see the prompt box and enter your desired topic and click on the “Add to Workspace” button.

Reviewing and tuning analogies: Review the generated analogy.

You can specify what you wish the analogy to be related to, for e.g the topic of photosynthesis being explained in an analogy related to airplanes!

Best Practices: Elaborate Analogy can be used to generate different analogies, choose the one that helps you understand the best. You can copy any analogy response, click on the “Eduaide Chat” and ask further questions about it after pasting the response.

[Optional] Validating Understanding with Questions Use the “Informative Text + Questions” button to test your understanding.

Best Practices: Click on the “Add to Workspace” button again with the text prompt only being the subject. Read through the information of the topic and test yourself against the generated questions.
