About the Project

Art O Mart is an AI-powered marketplace designed to empower local artisans by giving them digital tools to showcase their crafts, tell their unique stories, and connect with buyers worldwide.

The inspiration came from seeing how talented artisans often struggle to reach larger audiences because of limited online presence and trust issues. We wanted to bridge this gap by combining technology with culture.

What We Learned

While building Art O Mart, we learned how AI can transform e-commerce into something more personal and trust-driven. We explored AI-powered product descriptions, multilingual translations, and storytelling features that help artisans connect authentically with buyers.

How We Built It

Frontend: React + Tailwind for a modern, responsive interface

Backend: Node.js + Express.js with secure APIs

Database: PostgreSQL with Prisma ORM for clean schema design

AI Layer: OpenAI & Gemini APIs for content generation, recommendations, and translations

Payments: Stripe/Razorpay for secure transactions

Deployment: Docker Compose for multi-service consistency
