Inspiration

Starting the Masters in Analytics and Management at LBS, with a non technical background (Economics & Management), Clemens spent much of his first months on google, trying to figure out the basics of R, Python and SQL. When he ran in to problems, he often spent hours googling a solution, which a peer could subsequently solve for him in minutes, as most have an engineering or computer science background with plenty of coding experience. The idea therefore was born, to create a solution that effectively answers questions that google can't.

What it does

Answer complex questions that coders/developer often have when they are coding. Using an incentive mechanism, Askup solves the most complex questions, fast, with relevance and the experts who answer the questions get rewarded. The users/posers can specify the time they want the answer in, and the mode of answer (text, code, chat, call) .

This removes the problems currently faced-

Excessive time to find answers, not finding relevant answers, the experts not being rewarded.

How we built it

  • Ran a survey with 98 responses to understand the problem better
  • Used figma to build the prototype -Deployed the smart contract on the test net

Challenges we ran into

  • Connecting the front end into the backend within the given timeframe

Accomplishments that we're proud of

-Built a solid prototype on Figma -Collected responses from 98 people to validate the problem, and the direction of problem we should be looking to solve

What we learned

  • The initial target market size for the (Coding, Computer science focus) is small. However, the long-term vision is to expand this service into multiple domains (law, design, etc)
  • Hard to onboard people (web3 wallets)

What's next for AskUp

  • Building the fully functioning MVP and the code
  • Test out the beta with launching at one university (onboard past and current MAM Students to ask questions)
