AutoSched

Inspiration

As a colloge student, making a class schedule can be very time consuming and stressful. The idea of AutoSched is to make the process simple and easy.

What it does

AutoSched takes into consideration several variable including prerequisites, professor, and average grade. It then build you a schedule for the current semester or all future semesters.

How we built it

AutoSched was programmed with Prolog.

Challenges we ran into

Prolog was a new programming language to me. I have used it before, but as a logical programming language it took a while to get use to.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I am proud that it is able to make a custom schedule based on the student's specific needs.

What we learned

I learned about Prolog and logic based reasoning.

What's next for AutoSched

AutoSched could be built into UTD schedule buillder to provide students with tailor made schedules. It could also consider more variables such as time, day, or even how good a professor is in a spefic class.
