Inspiration

As a NYU student, I found it challenging to manage assignments across multiple platforms used by different professors. Our AI Tutor creates a unified system to organize all academic tasks and provide timely reminders.

What it does

It plans your academic schedule, assists with homework and exam preparation, and provides AI tutoring customized to professors' teaching styles by accessing course slides and materials.

How we built it

We built it using ViteJS for the frontend, ExpressJS for the backend API, and Firebase for authentication and database services.

Challenges we ran into

Our main challenges included integrating the Gemini API for AI tutoring functionality and implementing Gradescope connectivity for assignment tracking.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We successfully created a functional AI tutor powered by Gemini API, established Gradescope integration, built a usable platform in just one day, and implemented Google Sign-In for authentication.

What we learned

We gained experience in AI API integration, educational technology development, authentication implementation, and building responsive educational interfaces designed for student needs.

What's next for us

We plan to expand platform integrations (Canvas, Brightspace), add analytics for personalized study recommendations, and create collaborative study features with AI assistance.
