Inspiration

As the world faces many challenges in a race for time we must all take action. Yet there is no transparency Truth and transparency are not only critical but in high demand.

What it does

THE BIG PICTURE BFlo is transparently unifying the world’s sustainability data to be put to use to solve the worlds challenges by: • Empowering people doing good and create impact reputations • Rewarding them for their efforts • Shining a light on nefarious actors by illuminating their negative reputations

FOR THE HACK As part of the hack we decided to create NFTs representing data shared as part of their profile and commitment to solving global challenges we face.

How we built it

Prior to the hack, we built a centralized tool with data we modeled from use cases.

We built this with the intention to leverage Web3 tools and create unique NFTs as a way to visualize and share it with others like a badge.

Using the following Web3 technology, we not only made the NFTs but we created a subgraph with soulbound and played around with optimistic oracle. Technology we used:

Challenges we ran into

Web3 is super tricky. We were unable to initially generate our subgraph and connect our contract to polygon due to an issue with the network and then had to redeploy on Alchemy. Mentors helped us solve this quickly.

We also found it tricky to use the command line and were not able to install the subgraph on hosted network using the command line.

It's not easy to find information to solve many issues so trouble shooting ate away hours of our time while we spun around figuring out solutions. This also includes connecting contracts to app events and such.

What I learned is to persevere and that there is always a silver lining. If I had more team members I would not have had the space to meet as many of the mentors and activate so many new technical tools with my colleague.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are thrilled to achieved all the technical milestones mentioned above. It has been a long time goal to make these NFTs, use our smart contract and to create a subgraph. As part of this hackathon, we made our Web3 dreams real!

I also met lovely people.

After being frustrated that devs I sought to recruit were difficult to find and secure, I ended up meeting lovely people from Uma Protocol and adding another great tool we believe will be useful in may ways.

What we learned

  • If we keep focused, we can achieve amazing things

  • My team mate and I learned a lot about a lot of things Web3 with so many wonderful mentors, as well as how to rapidly scale some of our project with their help guiding us (thank you to The Graph)

  • How much I appreciate the team at The Graph and all the mentors who helped us.

What's next for BFlo

We are creating a mobile app and will deploy that among our ecosystem. We are also going to extend our subgraph to include more relevant information.
