Bird Nerd Game

Inspiration

Bird Nerd is inspired by Wordle and its many variants, as well as inspired by real life experience bird watching.

What it does

Bird Nerd is a fill-in-the-blank guessing game based on photos of birds. Players will have four turns to guess the name of the bird, using twelve words commonly found in bird names.

How we built it

Bird Nerd is built on Reddit's Developer Platform. There are two options to build custom posts – Blocks and WebView. We chose to create our game using the more limited Blocks interface, as it is better supported at this time across platforms.

What's next for BirdNerd

We will populate the subreddit, /r/birdnerd, with several introductory posts, then start posting new levels on a regular basis. We will spread the word about the game and build a player base.
