Inspiration
We were inspired by our own experiences with managing our health during busy school weeks. We wanted to make an app that was easy to use and informative so that students like ourselves can better manage our health.
What it does
BiteTrack allows the user to take a photo of their food/meal, and analyzes the image to provide informative nutritional data, which users can keep track of over time through a calendar and daily piechart.
How we built it
We built the app using React Native, the frontend with Figma, and the backend with Cloud Vision API.
Challenges we ran into
We had difficulties getting the camera to open on React Native, as well as integrating Cloud Vision API into our project. We had support from a lot of amazing mentors, and were able to overcome these challenges.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of creating the functional camera and Cloud Vision API backend. We are also proud of ourselves for learning a new tech stack in 24hrs.
