Inspiration
We were inspired by political blockers such as other extensions that makes every photo of Donald Trump into pictures of kittens!
What it does
When you input a name into the popup of the extension, it will block all instances of that name as well as block all the photos associated with that name on any website including Google or Facebook.
How we built it
We downloaded a starter chrome extension kit from the chrome website. We first worked on text replacing algorithms and found good tutorials to help us online.Then used the "Make America Kitten Again" extension to frame our functions and inputs. Then we customized our GUI using CSS and HTML.
Challenges we ran into
We had a really hard time parsing our inputs from the extension to our scripts. There was a lot of problems with chrome permissions as well as image permissions. We wanted to use machine learning to identify faces but it was too out of scope and we ended up looking at other examples to see how they solved this problem (MAKA)
