The growing urgency to address climate change inspired us to create CarbonWise. We wanted to empower individuals with knowledge about their environmental impact and provide actionable steps to live more sustainably. By leveraging cutting-edge AI technology, we aim to simplify the process of making greener choices in everyday life.

What It Does

CarbonWise calculates your family’s carbon footprint by analyzing data related to energy consumption, transportation, and lifestyle choices. It provides a detailed breakdown of your environmental impact and offers personalized, AI-generated advice to reduce your carbon emissions effectively.

How We Built It

We used modern web development tools to create a seamless and responsive experience:

  • Frontend: Built with React, styled using Tailwind CSS, and optimized with Vite for fast development.
  • Backend: Developed with Express to handle user data and API calls.
  • AI Integration: LangChain and the OpenAI API were used to process user input and generate personalized sustainability advice.
