Inspiration
We were inspired by our own desire to accomplish our New Years Resolutions.
What it does
It allows users to set their goals, remind them of their goals, and provide YouTube videos to help them with their goals.
How we built it
We used ReactJS and the YouTube Data API to build it.
Challenges we ran into
We had a very rough time integrating the API requests into our project. We had never used API's before in our projects, and being able to display the JSON we received from the requests in a properly formatted matter was difficult.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We're proud that we went from having beginner experience in React to building a functional project that even integrates a third-party API.
What we learned
We learned that calling API requests and displaying them is not as easy as we assumed. We also learned how the underlying structure of React works with the DOM and how to build a functional website through React.
What's next for Catch22
We want to build a fully-fledged out backend to save login info. Moreover, we hope to make the project easier-to-use and more functional. Finally, we plan on deploying the project to the web for all to see.
