Inspiration

Filling out forms is quite often a redundant and uninteresting task, which can often make them very forgetful. The most common type of form is for renewals or subscriptions, such as medicinal refills which forgetting to do so could be costly.

What it does

Automates form filling by pulling information from the user's profile and user-provided photos using optical character recognition (E.g. pulling the health card number from a photo taken by the built-in webcam).

How we built it

Figma for website design. React.js and Tailwind css for the front-end, node.js for the backend. Google Vision API for OCR. React-webcam for the webcam and screenshot functions.

Challenges we ran into

Using APIs without having a proper backend to use them and determining how to get the positions of the text boxes in PDFs in order to autofill them in.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Working on our backend and UX design skills!

What we learned

There was in fact, still seasoning in my fire noodles bowl.
