Inspiration

California has over 1 million homes with solar roofs. These homes can generate 12 million carbon credits. Currently these homes are not able to use carbon credits. For past 5 years our team members have worked for PG&E, the biggest electric company in California. We understand the issues with carbon credits in California.

What it does

We propose to integrate PG&E smartmeter(SmartRate™) APIs with blockchain. We create ledgered documentation and marketplace to trade carbon credits. We also help user support carbon credit generation project around the world.

How we built it

We integrated Cello framework with PG&E smartmeter API to created verifiable carbon credit. Additionally we build crowdsourcing platfrom to support carbon credit generation projects around the world.

Challenges we ran into

Integration with PG&E smartmeter API had issues with authentication and integration.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We provided a framework to track carbon cap credit in realtime. The user can create support additional projects around world to create carbon credits and offsets.

What we learned

Small projects can use our framework to audit and generate carbon credits for fraction of cost compared to available options.
