Inspiration

What better way to get customers comfortable with Chester than for Chester to introduce himself and make customers familiar with him in a playful way?

What it does

Chester pops up on the screen at random times, and customers are supposed to click him before he goes away.

How we built it

We created a chrome extension in JavaScript for this.

Challenges we ran into

It was difficult to automate continuous pop-ups and initially get Chester to pop up in different places all over the screen. We later found that we were unable to share a global variable across HTML files for the purpose of keeping track of score and streaks.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of coming up with an idea that is simple, effective, and light-hearted all in one and that we were able to implement it in a short amount of time.

What we learned

We learned that ideas do not need to be extremely complicated in order to function well.

What's next for Chasing Chester

Adding a coupon-exchange functionality to the app through partnerships with retailers, so that there is real-life incentive to keep the extension enabled.
