Inspiration
Our main motive behind participating in any hackathon is to create something innovative using our skills and efforts which can contribute to the welfare of our society. So, I have ideated this project as a solution to one of the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals - "Goal 3: Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages".
As healthy lives are impossible without healthy minds, my idea is to create a platform for people suffering from depression, anxiety, traumas, stress, etc. to reach out for help and share their feelings with other fellows. This platform can help them to get access to professional help services 24x7 without any problem. People can also share their feelings with other fellows who are going through the same issues so that they can help each other fight through these and overcome all problems together.
What it does
- Basically, it will be a platform where people from across the globe can get together to share their problems and cheer each other up.
- It will provide users audio, video and text chatting options, small games and activities to participate, and guidance of therapists, psychiatrists and doctors to help them overcome all of their problems in life.
- It will be more effective and interesting by adding the provisions of offline meets, laughing sessions and personalised guidance.
How we built it
I have not yet built the full website, but I am planning to build the Frontend using technologies like ReactJS, TailwindCSS, and HTML5. I will be using MongoDB for database needs. For the Backend, Python or NodeJS can be used. APIs will be used to fetch the professional experts' details. Other than that, I will be using Discord and Google Meets for chats and discussions and a chatbot can be build for 24x7 services. Also, I can collect feedback for improvements using Google Forms.
Challenges we may run into
- Since mental health is a sensitive issue, many people may feel uncomfortable to reach out.
- Social stigma may stop people from reaching out for help regarding this.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I have not yet accomplished anything. But I think this hackathon helped me conceive the idea of a great project that will be able to achieve a lot in the future:-
- Creating a comfortable environment where all users can share their feelings freely.
- Helping out a lot of people who were suffering silently from mental health issues.
- Association with people with common problems will help them to understand themselves better.
What we learned
Working for this hackathon, I have come to learn about a lot of ideas and technologies. And I hope to learn a lot more with the progress of work on this project.
What's next for CheerO'Fear
I hope this project can take a great height and be widespread in the future. So, with the growth of the project, I can try to incorporate some more features and make changes according to needs. Some things that I have already thought of adding shortly are:-
- Arranging for offline meets through this platform for interested groups of people for more effective solutions through better interaction.
- We can arrange for a laugh-a-loud club since our main goal is spreading happiness and laughter is contagious.
- Integrating various games, activities, and creativities using AI technology to diagnose, monitor and treat depression.
- Providing customized tips, routines, and therapy sessions for better user experience using advanced AI and ML algorithms.
