Inspiration

What inspired me to make this project is due to my own experience. When I had to take Chemistry, my professor required we memorize everything with the periodic table of elements. This also included memorizing the common acids. I struggled with memorizing the formulas and names and wished I had a fun way to learn them. So because of this struggle, Chemist Slayer was created.

What it does

Chemist Slayer is an educational game where the player goes through large rooms trying to run away from the enemies chasing them. They are given a limited time and health to try and run through and find the right chemicals to create chemical formula for the random acid given to them. Can the Chemist create the correct acid to escape and win or will they have to much pressure and collect the wrong element and fail at creating the right acid.

How we built it

We built this using Unity.

Challenges we ran into

Using Git for version control We are all new to using unity Creating Dynamic UI Creating player attacking

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Created Enemy AI that chases the player when they are within range Successfully creating dynamic UI that changes when the player picks up items

What we learned

A lot of how Unity works. Creating a lot of different UI's as well as player movement and item interactions. A lot of the game has interactions with the player so managing all of that at once was a learning experience for the next time.

What's next for Chemist Slayer

What is next for Chemist slayer is allowing the play to fight back and defeat the enemies for the chemicals. The player can choose between using a melee or ranged weapon depending on the players choices. Adding more chemicals to the list of choices that the player can study and play from. Their is the possibility of different maps and different enemies that can be created.
