Inspiration
We got our inspiration from Khan Academy and Duolingo. We wanted to replicate what Khan Academy has with their courses and we wanted to have great user experience like Duolingo.
What it does
When you hop on the home page, you're met with three sections of what you could learn. The options are Python, C++ and Java. When you click on a certain language, it would then link you to a page where you could click on the difficulty level you wanted to explore, then from there you could then click on a lesson depending on the difficulty level you chose. That's what it's supposed to do. Unfortuantely, we didn't get to complete it.
How we built it
We built it mainly with HTML and CSS. We also used very little JavaScript. We had like 3 lines of JS code
Challenges we ran into
Some challenges we ran into was formatting our page in the way that correctly showcased what we wanted a certain time. Formatting the buttons correctly or making sure the links link to the correct page. We also had some problems with time management and time allocation.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
For a lot of my teammate, this was their first ever Hackathon, so I'm glad we made something we were a little proud of. I'm glad we all learned something new and sparked a new interest in the field of web development.
What we learned
Throughout this project, we experimented with a lot of technologies and libraries. We learned some React and Node, we also learned some HTML and CSS and JavaScript. We also learned to work better as a team.
What's next for CodeSpaces
The future for CodeSpaces is for the members to get all their homework they pushed back done today, before the week ahead. Maybe also plan on finishing this project, as it would be a great opportunity to build on a lot of the things learned and explored during this Hackathon. Thank you HackUMBC for this opportunity. We will hopefully see you next year.
Technical Difficulties for cloning
We mainly found the pictures we used from Google Searches and altered them. So, for some of the pictures, you might just have to do the same thing for.
