Inspiration

Enjoying live streams on YouTube and Twitch, we wanted to recreate our idea of turning moderating their chat rooms into a video game. We envisioned the experience as being incredibly fast paced, moderators forced to switch their attention constantly.

How we built it

Our project was built in Unity. For comments and usernames, we used ChatGPT to speed up our workflow. We also used extensive planning and brainstorming leading up to development, dividing the task across multiple stages.

Challenges we ran into

Half of our team members were first-time Unity developers, or even completely new to game development in general. This was also their first time attending a hack-a-thon, requiring quick adaptation and learning.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We're proud that we delivered a stable, polished experience within the limited time. We're also proud of team members who were forced to go out of their comfort zone throughout the course of the project. Most of all, we're relieved that we actually got a finished game, a new experience for a majority of team members.

What we learned

We learned to create a game in Unity.
