🚀 Inspiration

Doubts stack up, diagrams are missing, and personalized help is rare.
We wanted to create a concept mastery platform where students can learn, explore, and clarify topics through AI-powered explanations, interactive diagrams, etc.

💡 What it does

Conceptry is an AI-powered platform for mastering academic concepts through:

✍️ Note Generation: Enter any topic, and Conceptry generates a detailed explanation (with a kid-friendly mode and an exam mode!). The AI will delve deep into the core concept of the topic, and not just give a bland explanation.
📊 Auto Flowcharts: Each note includes a dynamically generated Mermaid.js flowchart for visual learning.
❓ DoubtOut: Select a note and ask a doubt—Conceptry will answer it with context using AI!

🛠️ How I built it

Frontend: Built with Next.js 14 (App Router), styled using Tailwind CSS, and animated with Framer Motion.
Authentication: Managed using Clerk for secure user sessions.
Backend/Database: Powered by Appwrite – storing notes, concepts, flowcharts, and tracking user-generated data.
AI Integration:
- Gemini 1.5 Flash for generating concept explanations and Mermaid flowcharts.
Deployment: Hosted on Vercel and version-controlled on GitHub.

😅 Challenges I ran into

🧼 Cleaning and validating Mermaid.js flowchart output from AI required regex and custom formatting logic.
🧠 Preventing hallucinated or unsafe AI output required manual sanitization and smart prompt engineering.
🕒 Time zone syncing issues (IST vs PST & GMT) while racing against the hackathon deadline.

🏆 Accomplishments that I am proud of

🚀 A fully working platform built in under 48 hours with voice interaction, AI generation, and visual learning.
🧒 Creating a meaningful, accessible learning tool that makes concepts digestible even for 5-year-olds.
📱 A responsive, mobile-friendly UI that looks polished and feels intuitive.
