Crack My Code

Inspiration

Teaching and learning about cyber security and encryption while making it fun for young people gave us the idea of turning this project into a little game.

What it does

Our project lets the user try to solve our encrypted data to find the "key" to our treasure :)

How we built it

We built it using HTML, JavaScript and CSS in Visual Studio Code.

Challenges we ran into

One of the biggest challenges was trying to implement what we reasonably could in the time constraint we had. We also were not acquainted to HTML, JavaScript and CSS which learning them took a lot of our time. We had a challenge dealing with API from another site to use in our code.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are really proud of learning the languages enough to finish the website to our liking.

What we learned

We learned basic HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to code a website with functions that would actually do something on the screen, like clicking a button named "Hint" and giving a hint to the current encryption problem.

What's next for Crack My Code

We want to upload it to a Domain and add more encrypted challenges like hiding a message in an audio file as well as using API in the future.
