The Problem

The problem at hand is the prevalence of poor communication in classrooms, specifically ineffective and dull presentations delivered by teachers, ultimately decreasing the quality of students' learning experiences.

These subpar presentations, often influenced by resource limitations, time constraints, and insufficient teacher training, hinder effective knowledge transfer, obstruct educational progress, and diminish the credibility of educators, thereby impacting the learning environment and student success.

The Solution

Introducing CraftEd, the cloud-based platform designed to revolutionize education by offering teachers automated, customizable slide decks that align seamlessly with their curriculum and teaching goals.

CraftEd's innovative features include AI-generated slide decks, auto-translations, AI-generated assessments for better student engagement, and a collaborative social exploration feed where teachers can share and access templates. With a built-in upvoting system, the platform ensures the best materials rise to the top, fostering a supportive educational community.

The User

The target users for CraftEd are primarily teachers and educators. This platform is designed to empower teachers to create, enhance, and share presentation materials, making it a valuable tool for those responsible for delivering educational content in classrooms.

However, CraftEd can also extend its benefits to students and educational institutions by providing a centralized platform for students to access their teachers' presentation materials and allowing institutions to validate and align content with their educational objectives.

The Design

The team started off by conducting UX research to dictate the app’s human-centered design direction.

With brainstorming using affinity diagrams, crafting a user persona, and mapping a user journey, they delved into the ideation process to conceptualize our application that addresses the low quality of teachers’ communication through their presentations in the classroom.

Finally, the team utilized a multidisciplinary approach to web app development prototyping with graphic design and UX/UI design on Figma.
