USER JOURNEY - 11 - PILOT WITH ACCOUNTANTS AND CPE TRAINERS
Small to medium sized accounting practices have led the way with internet and cloud technologies to onboard the population in the last two decades, and will continue to guide businesses to adapt and scale with Bitcoin and open blockchain technologies. Their experiential learning “on the tools” is essential for understanding Bitcoin L2 technology and advocating for effective tax laws and accounting standards to help scale adoption.
It was recently exposed that a critical proportion of professional accountants are not keeping up with their continuing professional education (CPE) requirements, generally 30-50 hours a year of verifiable structured seminars etc to maintain the skills and knowledge necessary for their professional credentials. For the professional bodies, this means closer scrutiny by government agencies and eroding public trust. Reasons given for lax CPE compliance are mainly around the difficulty in maintaining records, uninspiring content, and minimal auditing.
By developing a Bitcoin L2 application that beautifully solves the entire industry’s problems with transparently tracking, verifying, and monetizing their Continuing Professional Education (CPE) and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) activities, we can competitively empower professionals and their membership bodies to gain public trust and recognition as qualified decentralized digital economy experts.
We need technical consultation. I expect we will build the initial CPE credentials issuing, aggregation and tracking solution using existing Stacks wallet white labelled, DID (credu.app) and NFT smart contracts. We may use CrossCheck to facilitate interaction between CPE trainers (selling courses) and accountants.
Dashboards will be customised for professional bodies to monitor their members' CPE records, and they will be funding and bringing members into the network. Professional bodies not using CREDU will be putting their members at a competitive disadvantage since the public will not be seaching for them and it will cost them more to audit members and prove compliance to regulators.
Basically - it will be designed to solve the CPE auditing problem and save an enormous amount of member money, at a global scale, and unite members of the different professional bodies through P2P knowledge sharing that can monetised.
Finally, the public will access a website to search for an accountant with the verifiable skills and knowledge they need.
