Inspiration

I was inspired by my summer project of a little garden. Despite my best efforts my fruits and vegetables were crushed by a combination of bugs, the sun and weeds. All of which could have been prevented if I had understood the risks at an earlier time. This lead me to make Crop Prophet, a project dedicated to helping famers and ordinary people about planting.

What it does

Crop Prophet uses AI to aid farmers, we trained the LLM on a farming textbook and it is able to quickly give information all about potential risks while farming.

How we built it

React Native - Frontend

GPT-4 + Langchain - LLM used

Firebase/Firestore - Database

Challenges we ran into

I accidentally updated React Native before this and it lead to alot of unforeseeable issues, I had to go back a version and it worked again.

Firebase libraries didn't work

I hit my monthly limit on openweather api free calls, had to make another account lol

VPN blocked uploading to GitHub until the very last 5 minutes

Adding the tensor flow feature I didn't have time for(had the model ready but wouldn't preform good on mobile, was thinking about implementing a flask solution)
