Inspiration
We wanted to make an app that you can use while you poop.
What it does
CrowdSequence lets you live interact with instruments alongside others to make some cool sounds. Sequencers are generally pretty simple to use, and because we predefine the chords almost anything sounds cool. Live note changing every few bars let you iterate on a beat with your friends.
How we built it
React.js, Python FastAPI, Tone.js
Challenges we ran into
Syncing info between participants live was by far the hardest challenge.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
You can actually jam out with your friends, and it sounds pretty cool when multiple people start adding to the beat. The different instruments are fun, and sound pretty good together!
What we learned
We learned that anything can sound good when you're restricted to a notes in the same scale
What's next for CrowdSequence
More people, more instruments, and rooms that you can join to make different beats.
