Inspiration

The current economic realities and inflation in our country Nigeria, inspired us to bbuild the Crypto Circles app, we want to encourage people to empower themselves and empower humanitarian causes financially with collective action. We aimed to create a platform that allows individuals to save and invest in cryptocurrency while enabling them to pool resources for impactful goals. The concept of traditional saving circles (AJO) also inspired us to modernise this practice using cryptocurrency.

What it Does

Crypto Circles is a mobile app that lets users create and join cryptocurrency saving groups. Users can set up circles for various purposes, such as personal savings, investment goals, or humanitarian projects. The app facilitates secure blockchain transactions, transparent fund management, and community-driven financial initiatives.

How We Built It

We built the app using Expo, React Native, typescript and Viem for blockchain Integration.

Challenges We Ran Into

  • React Native Expo CLI: We ran into a lot of issues and problems with Dev Dependencies and packages on the expo CLI.
  • Blockchain Integration: Integrating blockchain technology into a mobile app posed technical challenges, especially for ensuring secure transactions.
  • User Experience: Designing a user-friendly interface for complex financial transactions required multiple iterations.

  • Building an MVP: Building the app up to MVP.
  • Feature Expansion: Adding new screens and features like automated saving plans, investment tracking, and more social interaction options.
  • Community Building: Building our user base and building a strong community around the concept of saving circles.
  • Partnerships: Collaborating with humanitarian organizations and financial institutions to broaden the impact of Crypto Circles.
  • Global Reach: Expanding the app's availability to more regions and supporting multiple languages and currencies.
