The inspiration behind Data Doctor came from our personal experiences with the challenges of booking appointments with family doctors and finding new healthcare providers. 🏥 We saw how these difficulties could lead to delays in receiving care and frustration for both patients and doctors. 😓 This prompted us to explore the inefficiencies within the medical system, particularly in the areas of communication and documentation, and to create a solution that could make healthcare more accessible and effective. 💡
What it does 🩺
Data Doctor is a web application designed to streamline the note-taking process for doctors, allowing them to focus more on patient care. By automatically transcribing and summarizing conversations between doctors and patients, it ensures that essential details are captured efficiently. 📝 The app also facilitates the transfer of medical history between healthcare providers, helping to maintain continuity of care and reducing the risk of miscommunication. 🔄
How we built it 🔧
We built Data Doctor using a Python backend and a REST API. The app leverages the Google Speech-to-Text API to accurately transcribe audio files, which are then summarized and stored in a secure database. 🗄️ Our development process involved creating a user-friendly interface that could be easily navigated by doctors, ensuring that the technology would fit seamlessly into their workflow. ⏳
