Inspiration
Old fashion scrapbooks where you are able to gather photos, record your feelings from that moment, and decorate with a fun theme!
What it does
Allows you to record moments in your life and view them in a chronological timeline.
How we built it
We used Kintone for our backend, React + Vite as our frontend framework, ChakraUI and hand-drawn pixel art for styling + design, auth0 for authentication, and the Cohere API to do semantic analysis on event descriptions and generate sentimental sayings about datebooking for the login page.
Challenges we ran into
The challenges that we ran into were plentiful; some included setting up Kintone and making the elements on the web app aesthetically pleasing (we are not your go-to UI/UX devs).
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of being able to complete a working MVP!
What we learned
We learned how to work around the CORS limitations of the Kintone API and how to host a static site using .tech domains with GitHub Pages.
What's next for Datebook
Some immediate next features would be to enable editing event entries and supporting multiple datebooks/timelines!
