Struggling to decide where to go
What it does
The Day Out Planner is a web application designed to simplify group activity planning. Leveraging the Google Maps API, the application helps users collaboratively choose destinations within a specified location. Initially, the project aimed to store place data retrieved from the API in a Firebase database. However, due to payment processing issues, the project shifted to using MongoDB for storing lobby IDs and associated users. The user interface was developed using Flutter, but the integration of the API, database, and UI components into a fully functional application was not completed. Despite this, the core functionality of location-based, collaborative place selection remains, with MongoDB now serving as the data persistence layer.
