Inspiration

Seeing many investors being banned off of social media for spreading their financial advice and sharing their opinions on a company or a CEO, I realized that a centralized Social Media may not be the best fit.

Making a decentralized social media where investors and traders are able to freely discuss their opinions and their due diligence on a company without being scared of being punished would be the web3 future.

What it does

It is a social media platform powered by DeSo that allows people to make posts. You are able to upvote and downvote and the Login feature is powered by DeSo, so your username would be the key that you logged in with.

You are almost always guaranteed to not be banned off of the platform and anonymous (if you try to do so) as there are more options and precautions to make that can make you prone to security attacks

How it was built

React, Node.js, DeSo, Express, and PostgreSQL.

Challenges we ran into

The implementation of actually posting things on DeSo was extremely difficult as there are not too many online tutorials to take advantage of to follow the DeSo posting API, however the identity was fine.

Therefore, it is not actually decentralized as it is running in a database.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

How we figured out how the DeSo's authentication and the pop up, as well as learning how to use React.

What we learned

DeSo's authentication and React / JS/ SQL

What's next for Definso

Actually making it Centralized and Bug-Free.
