Inspiration

Last December, I traveled to different malls in Metro Manila. I have seen destitute children begging for food on the streets while others enjoy sumptuous dinners. I believe "Education" has been the line separating these two groups. This pains me that not everyone has the financial capacity for education. Web Design should be for all, and no wannabe child should be left behind!

What it does

DesignSites2 offers web design courses on websites to all who wants to enhance their skills in web design. It is a nonprofit platform that helps and guides young minds to become front-end developers. The app's main goal is to improve the lives and technical skills of everyone living in poverty.

How we built it

Using Figma for the design and HTML, CSS, and JS for the coding part of the website and Netlify to host it online. Making it available to everyone.

Challenges we ran into

Since this is a sample app, there are specific inputs that you need to type to join the course. When you log in, you need to input the following: Username: user1 Email: [email protected] Password: DesignSites2

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I am proud to support wannabe young designers along the way in their education. Being educated in DesignSites2 is an accomplishment that is one step to reality. The reality of educating young minds, especially those living within the poverty line, in enhancing web design will equalize the opportunity in education and help them become successful.

What we learned

I learned that web design education could be a vehicle for overcoming poverty. Hence, the creation of DesignSites2.

What's next for DesignSites2

Finishing (making it more fun and interactive for learning) and marketing DesignSites2 to give all children the opportunity to learn how to code.
