As the theme of the hackathon was "things that make your life easier", and all of us being big Dota 2 fans, we decided to do something with Valve's Dota 2 API. We wanted to make a simple utility for players to view stats from their games when they're on the go, or just away from the game. Our app allows the user to enter their user ID and view their most recent matches and personal stats, right on their Android phone, complete with character played, personal stats, game mode, and game result.
The data we were able to collect from Valve also allows us to add further stats for the user's convenience, such as detailed match histories as far back as 100 games, detailed character stats, and broader player skill trends. We plan to implement these features after the hackathon!
