Inspiration

We believe robotics shouldn’t be limited by onboard compute.
AI is scaling in data centres — robots should too.

DroidHub was inspired by a simple idea:
What if anyone, anywhere, could control a real robot as easily as joining a livestream?

What it does

DroidHub is a low-latency tele-operation and AI control platform for robotics.

  • Livestream any robot globally
  • Seamlessly switch between human and AI control
  • Let anyone pay to control the robot
  • Run heavy AI in data centres, not on the robot

We make robots accessible, scalable, and monetizable. Control the Bot! We're likely passed out at table 89 downstairs after the all-nighter and a half, but please come find us to demo - it makes it all worth it :)

How we built it

  • Custom low-latency stack using WebRTC + WebSockets
  • C-based latency-optimized control layer
  • 5G modem + custom microcontroller architecture
  • European server infrastructure for fast handshakes
  • Stripe integration for frictionless payments
  • Hybrid AI-human control pipeline

We focused on cutting milliseconds, not corners.

Challenges we ran into

  • Achieving truly responsive control over 5G
  • Handling dynamic control reassignment without lag
  • Preventing packet jitter from breaking navigation
  • Making payments + control handoff seamless
  • Balancing AI autonomy with human override

Low latency is unforgiving — every millisecond matters.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

  • Built and deployed a real-world MVP in Dublin
  • Achieved smooth remote driving from anywhere in Europe
  • Enabled live spectating + chat (Twitch-style robotics)
  • Successfully switched between AI and human control live
  • Built a scalable architecture from day one

We didn’t simulate it — we drove it.

What we learned

  • Robots don’t need more compute — they need better infrastructure
  • Hybrid AI-human control is more powerful than either alone
  • Latency defines user experience more than raw bandwidth
  • Payments + robotics unlock entirely new business models

The future of robotics is platformized.

What's next for DroidHub

  • Direct AI-agent integration into the control layer
  • Radio-to-fiber ground links for ultra-stable connectivity
  • Expanded low-latency APIs for AI labs
  • Multi-robot orchestration
  • Commercial pilots in entertainment and industrial tele-operation

We’re building the low-latency layer for the $200B robotics future.
