Homescreen - this is the homepage of the app. It shows avatar, its health, gold, tasks to be completed and options to other screens

Homescreen in Spanish language. We intend to support multiple languages for the app.

Inspiration
We became fond of the idea of "Vessel" and we believe that it will create a huge impact on the reduction of single-use non-degradable materials. We were inspired by the fact that gamification can be a means to stimulate change and good habits and that sometimes people need some extra motivation to go the extra mile for sustainability.
What it does
We developed a prototype for the game interface which provides a general idea of how it will work. Our proposal has the potential to insert itself in the system it seeks to improve by incorporating its elements. Specifically, the tasks we seek to reward through the game, are tasks that might help the reusable cup system to work effectively by reminding people to do these things (i.e returning the cups and doing it in a timely manner). These tasks when completed grow the level of the avatar and also earns the character some amount of gold. If tasks are missed, the health of the character is reduced. We are planning to further extend the functionality by allowing users to share avatars on social media platforms. This will not only spread awareness among the community but also add a healthy competition towards sustainability. For example, we intend to create a badge out of the avatar which users can display on their live stream on twitch.
How we built it
Our project was built using Figma. We used it to design the prototype which consists of an RPG game interface.
Challenges we ran into
One of the challenges we encountered was to work simultaneously as we are all staying in different countries and as such our time zone were different. We also tried to figure out how to use the game to offer greater rewards for the most environmentally friendly and sustainable habits
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We also take pride in the fact that our proposal includes a Spanish interface option to reach more people and a map feature to help the user with this task. Additionaly, our prototype goes beyond the reusable cup system by allowing the user to add more eco friendly task to earn more points.
What we learned
We learned how to use figma, prototyping and the act of problem solving.
What's next for E code
We will create our mobile app and integrate all the core features stated in the figma design.
