Inspiration

We were inspired by the waste we noticed in the engineering community. Too often, tools, hardware, and wires are left gathering dust in storage after projects. Instead of letting them go to waste, we envisioned a community where engineers can share niche resources, sparking creativity and encouraging new projects that might not have been possible otherwise.
One engineer's scrap is another's gold!

What it does

A platform for sharing surplus project materials and discovering specialized tools. Save listings of interest, connect directly with contributors, and facilitate exchanges by offering your own listings or inquiring about additional available items.

How we built it

"We used Figma to design an outline of our website, focusing on the UI/UX aspects of the prototype. After finalizing the design, we converted it into code, emphasizing a user-friendly interface. For the new listing features, we implemented local storage to manage data efficiently."

Challenges we ran into

Our main challenge was front-end development, as none of us had much prior experience in this area.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

One of our key focuses was ensuring seamless navigation between different pages to enhance overall usability. We aimed to create an intuitive user experience, allowing users to interact with the platform smoothly

What we learned

We all gained more experience in design development and web development. And it gave us an insight on that aspect of web development, where we would've otherwise only gotten from a classroom setting.

What's next for EcoEngine

We plan to add a map feature to help users find items based on their location. Additionally, we aim to launch the platform as a fully functional website and integrate a messaging system for seamless communication between users.
