Inspiration
Our inspiration is that we want kids to learn and grow their ambitions when it comes to the sciences. We wish for them to engage in small experiments and a community of sorts, to better understand how our environment works on a fundamental level.
What it does
This website is an all-encompassing site for readers to go and learn about eco-friendly tips to improve their surroundings, as well as pages for posting various science projects that children have made and can learn from their peers. For further enrichment, we have included a page on the curriculum, which essentially has resources for users to visit and better their knowledge through quizzes and worksheets.
How we built it
We used HTML, CSS, and JavaScript through Replit.
Challenges we ran into
We were unable to figure out how to make a moving background, as well as the containers changing positions on different devices
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We were able to solve the background issue and made the project page user interactive.
What we learned
We had fun playing around with text format and shadows, as well as borders for the containers. We also furthered our knowledge of Javascript and used it on the Projects page, and our team was able to figure out how to create a drop-down menu for the EcoTips information.
What's next for EcoLearners
We want to add more resources to the curriculum.
