EduMaximize

Inspiration

Our inspiration was the rampant cheating problem that our school, Amador Valley High School, faces. The AP Statistics Final Exam at our school was cancelled this semester and had to be redone as a result of academic integrity violations. This inspired us to create a tool that would allow teachers to generate original and high quality tests at the click of a button in order to prevent such cheating from occurring.

What it does

It creates both MCQs and FRQs surrounding the content of user inputted topics, and also provides students with study guides for inputted topics.

How we built it

We utilized OpenAI's API as well as ReactJS in order to build our project.

Challenges we ran into

Some challenges we ran into was the repetition of test questions, which we overcame by storing previous test questions as well as upping the temperature of the API requests for more creativity.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We were able to successfully create MCQs and FRQs for various different subjects and successfully export them as PDFs that can be printed into tests for students to take.

What we learned

We learned more about APIs and interacting with AIs and phrasing requests in a manner that achieves our desired responses.

What's next for EduMaximize

We hope to add more customization surrounding the difficulty of individual problems.
