Inspiration
We were inspired to build an application to help the underserved with financial planning!
What it does
With our app, you'll have access to a ChatBot that can answer your financial questions, an interest calculator to help you understand the impact of your investments, a budget planner to keep you on track, and a curated list of useful resources to help you stay informed.
How we built it
We built this application using vanilla JavaScript and DOM manipulation.
Challenges we ran into
Implementing graphs into the project as well as styling the whole project to make it look nice. We attempted to use REACT, a JavaScript framework, but the learning curve was too high for the amount of time we had.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We created an AI chatbot to help with financial questions.
What we learned
We learned how to make a multipage web app and link user information into a database.
What's next for EmpowerU
We want to improve our website further, improve the overall UI, and incorporate further recommendations. In addition, we want to create a community feature where you are able to meet people with a similar financial situation.
